At Blue Damson we have 20 years of experience of designing gardens for individuals and organisations throughout South Wales

We specialize in providing a bespoke design and consultancy service which includes:

a) Redesigning - part or all of your garden

b) Providing planting schemes - for low maintenance planting, seasonal borders, ground cover schemes, herb gardens etc

c) Special features - including accommodating young children in the garden, gardens for the partially sighted and disabled, fragrant gardens and wild life friendly gardens

d) Garden Problems - for example, poor growth, damp soils, pest and disease problems, pruning etc

Why have your garden designed?

Garden design is not a complicated process, although many people think so. It is a simple matter of making the best use of the available space, of keeping garden features to scale and finding an attractive pattern in which to place the things you want.

What we can offer is an eye for colour and design, the experience of growing and using plants in a variety of locations and the ability to listen to your thoughts on what you want in your garden.

The Design Process

a) Initial visit

There is an initial visit to meet you and your garden. At this visit we will;

• Listen to your ideas about the garden and help you choose those features that you require
• Ask you questions about possible alternatives
• Measure the garden, take soil samples, check on existing plants and take photos from many angles of the features in your garden

b) Draft Designs

From the first visit we draw up a series of draft designs giving you a range of alternative designs for your garden. These will consist of scale drawings showing a variety of ways to use the space available and fitting in those garden features you require, such as, lawns, planting areas, water features, seating etc

From these drawings you can begin to decide the eventual layout of your garden. You could choose one of the draft designs or parts of each design. The choice is yours until you are happy with the final layout of your new garden.

c) The full design

When you have picked the design you want we can take the drawings and produce a full design package. This will include;

a) A scaled, coloured plan of your garden

b) A complete planting list of the garden, giving numbers and descriptions of all the trees, shrubs and perennials to be used

c) Details of paving, walls, fences and other materials required for the garden

d) Getting the job done

You will now possess the design for your new garden. To get the job done you can undertake the work yourself or seek out landscaping companies to give you an estimate for the project. Blue Damson has experience and expertise in constructing all garden features and would be happy to tender an estimate for the work.
